Looking to reduce the noise in my new sump has anyone got any ideas? Its mainley when the water enters back into the sump all the bubbles etc? the pipe is about 4" under the waters surface. :good:

I would have but ive just managed to snap the fitting on top of my ocean runner 2500 so Ive got no flow! These are supposed to be solid pumps!!

by the sound of things it sounds a bit like the problem i am having. if you have alook at my video, you will see it. i was thinking of running a T setion about 200 mm away from the water line in the sump. i would then place a 90 bend on the T and use some more stright pipe to increase the pipe back up. i would hope this would allow the air out, and it would not be forced down into the sump.

the air return pipe would have to be moved so that it was over the sump just incase it all when wrong, then the water would just flow out the air return and into the sump. i would also place a section of foam into the pipe to baffle the sound of the overflow water hitting the sump water.

hope that helps, i am going to try it on my new set up to see if it helps.

many thanks ROB

will do a bit of autocad to get my point across :good:

Sounds a good idea put the pics up to show me when you are done on autocad :good: noticed you are using the V2 skimmer the same as mine! Im quite impressed they are very quiet in the sump!

here is the auto cad, hope it gets my point across. i may be better it the T pipe is closer to the water surface, but this is somthing you will have to try :)

hope that help
