I wanted to set up some rubbermaid bins as ponds over the summer. I read an article an about someone who had a really good experience with it.
http://www.aquarticles.com/articles/ponds/...mer_Tubbin.html

I was just wondering if i need to worry about the rubbermaid bins being toxic. Anyone have any experience with them.
I was looking at the roughneck line (easiest to find)
but i think i heard somewhere they they will raise phosphate levels or something...are they safe?

I have used 10 gal plastic bin inside before for quartineing fish for a few weeks. I am planning to try outside this summer too. Here is another article on it, it is on the 18th page. The main thing is the bigger the bin is the more stable the temp and things are going to be.

As far as safe, I don't know for sure, but I am guessing that they are. The plastic water bins for farm animals have to be safe though, since we eat the animals that drink out of them.

I have a couple of 150 gallon Rubbermaid tubs in my fishroom. Many people use the 100-300 gallon tubs outdoors in the summer, and shut them down in the winter. They nest together in a stack nicely, and don't take up that much room when not in use.

I'm using one for growing out an angel spawn, another for potential breeders/bowl show entries.

Could you tell me the brand of your 150's?
or where i could get them from, i'm up in canada in Vancouver, so i'm kind of far from anything that sells barnyard equipment i think.

thanks =)
