Hi everyone,

This is my first summer owning tropical fish. I am a little worried as my living room where the tank is kept gets very warm in the summer. The water temp yesterday was a little over 80 degrees.... I normally keep it at 76. I did a water change yesterday to cool it down a couple of degrees.

My question is.....Will it be safe at this temp. If not what can I do to bring the temp down. I dont have the time to do a water change every day. I have a 90 gal tank.

Can any one help......Thanks

you could direct a fan at either the waters surface or the front of the tank.
Also you could freeze some water in a bottle and then float the frozen bottle in the tank, the lid must be secure as you don't want to introduce tapwater into the tank with out de-chlorinating it.

Good Idea about floating bottle of frozen water...I will put one in the freezer right away.

My fish are tinfoils, balas, gourami's a small catfish and teeny golden algae eater.
