Have turned the heater off that was keeping it at 22°C after realising it has been at 27°C (due to the heatwave here) in hope it will go down a smidge. So should i just leave this to run its course, it would be difficult to constantly try and maintain a temperature 22°C especially at night when i'm not watching it.

I have a current stocking of

6 WCMM
13 Neon Tetra
7 Black neon tetra

thanks for reading

Try putting some ice in the tank every hour or so. Thats what I do if the tank temp ever went up. No A/C in your house?

Sounds silly but will it be okay without dechlorinator? even though i overdose dechlorinator just to be safe :)

No we dont have air conditioning all the windows are open which seems to be almost worse lol

Thanks for the reply

I have done it all the time to my aquarium from ice from the refrigerator or make ice yourself from bottle water. You really dont have to treat it or anything it will be just fine with a freshwater tank. Hope this helps and good luck.

Just increase aeration.
Don't add ice to the tank, the temp will soon shoot back up.
The unstable temp will cause stress and desease.

You could also run a fan in the room.

ok i have tried the ice method but it didnt move the temperature at all so will now try the fan method instead cheers guys

mine is gone to 29.4 (s/london)

usually at 25 to 26

i added some cold water to bring it down but it shoot up again.

fish is seems to be fine.. (very hungry..!)

All I do is increase aeration. The fish seem fine then.
Worse thing you can do is keep changing the temp.
Also running a fan in the room helps.
