After a tank reshuffle to make a few of our occupants happier our Juwel Rekord 60L, Internal filter is stocked as follows:
5 x male guppies
2 x African Dwarf frogs
2 x Amano Shrimp

My other half would like some corydoras or something that looks a bit different to go in there. The Guppies are a fairly recent addition (fter our betta moved out to a solitary 21L as he was not enjoying life in there) so we do not plan to make any additions for a month just wondered if anyone had some ideas? He likes pleco's but the tank is a bit small for most types and we do not want to upset the shrimps!

maybe a couple of ottos not sure about cory with shrimp

The cory idea with the shrimp should be fine. My boyfriend has a setup with platys, 2 shrimp and 2 cories. And they all get a long just fine.

otos would be good as said as would cories, try stay clear of plecos for now as the are massive waste producers

LFS advised two chocolate striped doras but I have no idea on final growth size and also there is the waste production to consider!

I have spotted cories, ghost shrimp, and guppies in my 20 gallon. Never any problems with each other.

hello! :) i currently have a 10 gal with 3 amano shrimp, 3 panda corydora catfish, and 1 male betta and they seem to be getting along just fine.

i do, however, plan on moving the betta to his own, smaller tank (abt 3 gal) as he seems to be really anxious and antsy being in the 10 gal after being in a small cup for, presumably, most of his life. So far, he's not been aggresive to anyone in there at all, but he'll have his own home soon so i won't have to worry if he might change when he gets older, and so he can be happier.

but the shrimp and corydora get along very well and sometimes sit side by side and eat a hikari sinking wafer together :) they're very cute.

sorry, i don't mean to jack your post, but i had a very similar question to yours.

when i move my betta to his own place, i would really like to get some male guppies to go with my 3 amanos and my 3 pandas. and i was wondering how many i should get? i have live java moss, and a live java fern and some decorations. it is filtered and heated (usually the temp remains fairly steady, between 75 and 80 F always). would guppies be a good choice? and what about female guppies? would they possibly breed, even if i didn't want to? thanks. :D

Female and Male guppys breed readily even if you ask them not to! The males when kept in a group can get along ok they each heave little territories but we have had no fin nipping. If you do decided to keep males and females (if you don't want them to breed don't get them!) The advised ratio is one male to four females. Most females will already arrive pregnent if they have been with a male in the last few months. Females store the males donation to the reproductive process if you know what i mean and can produce fry every 3-4weeks for several moths after one mating. Your tank may become overstocked very quickly ifd they are kept together and the fry are lucky enough to survive being eaten by their tankmates. Hope this helps :)

hi

i've got guppies i keep them in a tank with danios, neon and a few cardinal tetras and some serpia tetra, also a sucker loach and have never had any problems with any fin nipping!! if you don't want fry just keep either the males or the females i have both males and females which i keep of a ratio of 3 females to 1 male which leaves room for some fry although i've never had any fry servive yet!

hope this helps

Inty if you do not want any fry then avoid females, once they start its hard to stop them as they can store enough sperm for 7 broods from a single mating. i'd go for a groupd of 5 males in your tank :good:

I have some guppies, neons, and pandas as well!
thx
