Suitable Catfish

I would like to to eventually put some catfish in my tank can any on tell me which would be suitable for my tank ,my tank is 10 gallons and ph 8-8.5

I personally wouldn't risk catfish with that kind of ph - even though they may be perfectly fine but I don't really know. Also I don't know what catfish you could have in a 10 gallon - you could probably get some upside down catfish in the tank but the ph is the crucial deciding factor. If you had a bigger tank I would say get some malawis instead - much cooler by far

With that ph Synos are your best bet. They're not the normal catfish, i.e sucking kind , but are good scavengers and fun to watch.

Your main problem is tank size, the 1 type that would be best if you were looking to upgrade you tank in the future woud be Synodontis petricola. They only get to about 6-7 cm and are a more active Syno.

Also I see frm your previous posts you are looking to lower your ph, IMO this leads to more problems, adding chemicals such as ph down is never good.

Why not look into keep Malawi Chichlids, they LUV higher ph ranges, but do require a bigger tank than 10 gallons.
