Ok so I'm moving into a new flat soon, and want some fish to look after. I've kept bettas before and had a hand with my dads tropical tanks. However, I regrettably didn't always keep on top of the clenliness of my betta's tank and sometimes it would get filthy. For this reason the GF has become stubborn and thinks bettas are hard to keep. (my own stupid fault).

She on the other hand, wants goldfish. I'm of the belief that fancy goldfish require much larger tanks.

Either way, what would be suitable for my 35L tank, that would be extremely easy to look after?
Priority to coldwater and tropical fishes.

I'm afraid I think a betta would be the only type of fish I would be happy putting into that tank or maybe even 3 or 4 guppies.

You could always have it set up for shrimp.

But await more experienced hobbyist for their opinion

There is no reason why you can't keep micro or dwarf rasboras or endlers.
