Suicidal fish

oh no.....
got a new Juwel 180 aquarium, cycled and put a few zebra danios in.

Feed them this morning and one is missing....

Looked all around the tank and found it wedged behind the in-tank filter

RIP little fishies.

Darn hard to fish ( ) it out

anyone had the same problem? how do you prevent it?

I used to have one of those tanks and i lost a platy the same way...Well i ended up ripping out the inbuilt filtration system(which is posible as hard as it is to pull out) and replaced it with a normal stick on fluval sponge filter before giving the tank away to a friend a couple of months later when i got a larger one.

i've never had that problem and had a rio 180 for over a year.

i do however get fish stuck behind my co2 ladder, particularly otto's they seem to like it there.

That has happened to me several times. Now I try to block the openings so they cant get out.

I had an oscar kill himself once.

I'd dosed the tank with meds and he was pissy.

Rammed around the tank charging at me till he must have hit enough hard objects at high speed to do serious damage.
