It'll probably be awhile before I even start my 10 gallon aquarium but that doesn't stop me from already wanting stuff for it! I'm thinking about cover the entire bottom in a 'lawn' of either java moss or riccia.. or maybe a combination of both. Then I'd like to do a bottom of sand.

Then I can't decide what type of decor I would like. I have three options.

1. I like how glassio did his tank. So the first decor idea would be similar rocks as the main focus.

2. The second idea I really like is just a second piece of driftwood. Like this piece..

3. The third idea is that I would get a few of these roman pieces. I think that could look really cool. Are the prices for these reasonable or would I be better off looking else where?

I'm open for any suggestions!

(Sorry if this isn't in the right forum. )

I'd go for one or two, the rocks would be the cheaper option, but the wood with some moss, riccia or a fern or someting on would look none to shabby to. :)

What are your future tank stats? How much light do you plan on using? Planning on planting the tank heavily? Riccia needs a lot of light to carpet nicely, as you'd like it to do. I'd skip the Roman decor if I were you. It just doesn't look natural. Driftwood will look good, depends on how/where you place it I guess. Also, have you read the pinned topics in this forum?

Cheers,

Cheers,

I'm not sure about the lighting. How many watts does riccia need? Yes.. I've read some, if not most, of the pinned topics. :)

I would think 2-3 wpg and CO2, but I haven't keep riccia before, so I can't say for sure. I'm sure a member that has experience with riccia will post a reply soon.

The pinned threads are a very good place to start if you're a beginner to planted tanks, because it gives you some basic knowledge as to the different aspects of planted tanks.
