Ive been trying to plan an aquascape for my first planted tank, and i think ive got some of it covered, However i need help filling in spaces that i cant think of good plants to take.
The tank is 90cmx31cmx38cm and is 22g
Its going to be a while until i get started, as the new tank had a useless hood so ive got to find a new one and get a good light, as well save for fertilsers co2 and plants along with flourite or laterite. Jimboo has helped me with the hardware so i just wanted help planning the last parts. Ive done a brief design of what i have so far.
The two black boxes as labeled are internal filters. The left one is a small corner filter which blows bubbles out upwards so plant wont get blown from there. However the right hand side filters blows out a decent sized current which would blow a plant in front of it, but not too bad. The red boxes are spaces i need help with, I was thinking of amazon sword behind the cocunut caves, but need sometihng strong to counter the current on the right side. Please help me fill in any red parts or make suggestions on the ones ive already made, thanks here the plan so far. :)

Thats the biggest i can get it up so i guess ill have to talk you through it.
The middle brown piece covered with green is bogwood covered in riccia with jave fern attached each side. The small grey rectangle bottom right is slate which i will build up a little. The two circles with green coevering them are cocunut caves also covered with riccia. The green at the front is hairgrass. behind the bogwood is vallis. The red spaces you can hopefully help me with.

Baby tears or Micranthemum umbrosum allways looks good and will grow to an ideal height for your tank, it need moderate to highlight.

Another one i like is Blyxa japonica, this needs high light, if you can get this one to grow for you it can look great, imagine vallis except shorter and bushier, i really like it.

Those are 2 i can think of off hand if i think of any more i'll post them here.

In August issue of TFH, Amano uses Blyxa echinosperma in a tank. I really liked it and looked into using it for my tank, but my light levels will be too low. Anyway, just wanted to comment and although I haven't seen it in person, I second zig's suggestion for Blyxa. I think you'll like it.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, ill go check up on them now.
Goodluck with your tank pseud ive been keeping on eye on your thread, hopefully i can learn a few things from it.
I just checked up on micrathemum umbrosum - also known as round helsine? i didnt like it that much but i liked the japonica and will probably put a few near the cocunut caves.
I searched for the echinosperma but couldt find any :S

Thanks, SF. I'll keep posting in it until I'm finished. Hope you can learn from my mistakes lol

I've been collecting names of plants I'm interested in, you might wanna look them up and see if any take your fancy:

Riccia
Heteranthera zosterifolia
Didiplis diandra
H. polysperma, "Ceylon" maybe or "DaCosta".
Ludwigia arcuata
Ludwigia repens or natans
Baby Tears

I'll second the Heteranthera zosterifolia, I added some to my tank a couple of weeks ago, and it's just started to take off, it's a nice shaped plant, with a great colour...the baby tears is real pretty too!

Thanks ill go check them out now. I saw a nice plant down the lfs today, sorry cant remember the name it was the scientific one so i wouldnt be able to spell it anyway. It was a long leafed plant with green in the middle and white along the edges of the leaf. The label said grows to 12'' and needs moderate lighting. Maybe that will narrow the search down to a few 100 :dunno: Was nice though.
