Am looking to get a tank around 260 liters (4 ft x 1.5 ft) which will re-house one keyhole, one bolivian ram and some tetras plus bronze corys.

Looking for suggestions as to what else. pH is around 7.6. I've been very impressed by the cichlids in my mate's six foot tank but as I live in a rented house I am forced to max out around 4 ft in case I have to move into a smaller space later.

I was thinking along the lines of firemouths? Maybe a couple of Anglefish?

Also I'm advised that rather than one external filter get two perhaps smaller ones for redundancy. Eheim 2226 to get going, add another later on. Good idea or might the speed of water flow be too much?

I have kept Angels, Keyholes, and Bolivian rams together with no problems besides the occassional nip. I have always wanted to get Firemouths but I can't reccommend them as I have no experience with them. You could recreate a cool south American biotope with the angels and some cool tetras as well.

Have fun with your tank!

what type of tetras are they ? if they are neons/cardinals etc i wouldnt get a firemouth as once the firemouth grows big enough they will be on the menu also you may find the keyhole too timid to have a firemouth as a tankmate

Red-blue buenos aires - I say that as it's the closed pictoral match on Google. About 5cm long roughly.

They're Probably Colombian Tetras, which would be fine, I have 7 with my cichlids
