Hello Everyone,

I am planing on getting 2 new tanks.

Tank 1 - 60" long by 18" high (not sure on width) will be about 85 Gallons (+/- 10)

I would like to put some Big fish in this tank. Around 6~10" fish perhaps? maybe Oscar, Jack dempsy, Severum or Firemouth?
im not saying i would like all of these or even just these, but these are the fish i have seen in the LFS and they are very interesting. What would you all suggest to put in this sized Aquarium? Say this was your tank, what would you do

Tank 2 - 36"L 15W 18H About 45ish Gallons

This tank would be for my Girlfriend and she wants all things like discus, Angelfish and Neolamprologus brichardi.
The Angel fish would be a problem due to them needing a matur tank (heard about 6months?) The discus are supposedly very difficult too (from what ive read) The Neolamprologus brichardi are rather fun to watch :) the guy at the LFS said they were easy to care for.
What would you put in this sized tank? We would be happy with say 1,2,3,4 larger fish :)

The tank i have atm is a 4ft and it has a breeding pair of Bolivian rams, a pair of blue rams and other smaller fish.

The larger tank will be a present for my fathers Christmas. He used to keep fish when i was small, but my mother killed them (dam her!!) 6foot tank smashed by the sofa :-( was thinking that a new tank for him would be great and i would do the work and he could get the rewards :)

Well what would you stock these tanks with?

Looking forward to the replys :)

Thanks

Kev

I personally would think about severums, they are rather well behaved for larger cichlids but still nice looking. Severums are almost like a starter discus, easy to take care of but really nice looking. Also I would suggest maybe trying to find some chocolate cichlids. They are a beautiful fish but can be hard to find sometimes.

For which tank? like maybe 2 or 3 in the 45G? or more or less in the large tank?
