Hello i have 2 plants ( i cant ID them ) which seem to go brown and decay in my tank..

i thought it might be because theres no aereation so i bought a air stone and pump.
the problem stills occurs..

my temp is 25-28 degrees ©
nitrates are about 5-10ppm

can anyone suggest a plant that wont die on me?
ty

You might have marsh plants and not true aquatic plants. Marsh plants are designed to grow with their roots in water and their leaves out of water. Marsh plants can support their own weight when removed from water whereas true aquatics are not able to do this and will fall down when taken out of the water.
It could also be lack of light.

Ok well i think it might be 50w

the tank is 35L (about 10 gallon)

i have:
5 rummy nose tetra
2 cherry barb
3 guppy
3 julii catfish

thanks

Sounds like it got a incandescent bulb (oval shaped one that screws into the hood on one end) their really are not a lot of plants that can live under that kind of lighting. The best ones to try would be anubis and possibly java moss.
