Sudden Burst Of Aggressiveness

well i have had my females together for just over a month no problems, then just a minute ago i saw the smallest one chasing and flaring and the biggest most dominant one, and now she is chasing and flaring at the other two. why has she suddenly become aggressive, and what should i do?

if you've got a spare tank put her in that.This kind of thing can happen.Were there fin for months then all of a sudden youve got a injured or dead fish.Seperating them is the best thing to do.

sadly i don't have another spare tank, i could have a good luck around the house for a desent sized container if that would do?

Try and find a decent sized container to temporarily separate her in for now, if you cannot afford a separate tank for the time being then a divider net for the tank can be a cheap way to separate the fish while still keeping them in the same tank together .

How up to date is your profile info right now? It says you have 4 female betta's in a 3gal which is quite cramp even for betta's, it would explain why one eventually turned agressive towards the others if they are all still in there.

yes a container would do preferably 1g or more.if it is a 3g tank no wonder the aggression is bad.They all need there own little terretry.

yer the 3 gal is a temerary thing, whilst i am getting rid of velvet in the 15 which seems to have cleared, but i give it another week of treatment before adding them again, i currently have her in a beanie box, will she be ok in there until i put them back in the 15?

She should be fine until the 15th as long as the water is kept nice and clean
