Hi Guys
I recently rescaped my newts tank, I removed two pieces of Mopani and a plastic cave. I replaced these
with a stack of rocks / slate and some live plants.
I now have a constant reading of 0.25 to 1ppm of ammonia, I am making constant water changes but this
has been going on for almost a fortnight now. I have replaced the filter in case it wasn't flowing enough but I kept the
existing media.
I'm not getting any Nitrite readings at all.
Could the Rock/Slate have caused a PH difference enough to kill off my bacteria?
James
