Some of you may have seen where I posted that my full grown Severum didn't like the new small Sev I added to my tank a couple days ago. Well I took OX5475's advice and rescaped the entire tank. I went to the store and chose decorations for hiding spots rather than what I liked as far as looks. I have re-decorated this tank many times and have never been happy with it. This time I just threw it all in there with cover for the little one in mind. It turned out awesome ! LOL

This morning the little Severum came out and has been happilly swimming around all day. She likes to play in the waterfall from the filter. My grown Sev doesn't bother her unless she invades his space. At that time he will give a bold swim at her to make her move away and that's it. I have also noticed him going near her, fanning his fins all the way out with his bars disappearing. Could this mean he may like her ? I hope so :)

The Opaline Gourami is still chasing a bit. He is a really mean fish. She is trying to stand up to him though. Still have to keep my eye on him and possibly move him. Other than that I think this may work !

congrats, and yea male opalines are aggressive, no worries there tho the sev will outgrow the gourami a lot and will prolly give a gentle revenge tap to it someday:p I like ur fish:p I had an opaline (rip), amazing fish, and have a gold and a green severum currently,, also spectacular fish.

hope it all goes good,, enjoy!

Thank you Murph !

My Opaline has alot of personality , but the two Pearl Gourami's I have in my 30 gal. are the most boring fish I've bought. Kinda expected the same from them. The Opaline must have a character of their own.

I suspect my little Sev will show herself to the Opaline soon. Same thing when I put A Firemouth in the tank. The Opaline ignored the flaring and a week later the Firemouth tormented him non-stop.

no problem!:) I have never had Pearl Gouramis before so I am not sure. Once again, congrats, they will be very enjoyable fish, great personalities.

Have a good one:)

Glad things turned out good Faythee. Hopefully for the time being things will be peaceful in paradise, but make sure you are prepared incase aggression shows its ugly head again. And sorry again to be a pessimist and only think of the bad, but the chance that two randomly chosen fish would pair off and mate is remote, a very low chance. This doesn't mean it can't happen, it's just like humans (ie, why blind dates are usually some of thsi funniest stories in your life because they go so awful... haha).

Good luck for the future and hopefully the gourami get's whats coming soon enough :good:
