What substrate would you recommend for a tank with tiger's, cherries, denisons, tinfoils and possibly clown loaches.

It is a 140l, 39" x 15" x 18" and i was thinking of stocking lke this:

4-6 tiger barbs
4-6 green tiger barbs
4-6 albio tiger barbs
4 cherries
2 denisons
2 tin foils
3 clown's

Tinfoils and clowns reach 30cm so they are a definite no for a 140l tank. As for the substrate anything not too coarse so it doesn't damage the barbels.

Any fine gravel would be fine or sand if you wanted.

I second a no on the tinfoils and clowns, I would also not recommend the denisons as they need more swimming space and a max of 4 each of the TB's making 12 or you will find they dont have enough swimming space when they reach full size.

anymore suggestions.

At my LFS they have a massive tank with large smooth pebbles

if you have the money then all white sand is a good choice. the white reflected against their underbellys gives the tank a cool effect
