Substrates

hi all posted a thread in planted tanks but shall ask here also

i have a sand substrate at the moment and after getting my tank stocked with fish have now decided to do a planted tank

my question is does anybody have any ideas on substrates i want to get rid of the sand and go back to gravel or something like but i dont want the normal greyish brown stuff does anybody else have any ideas on want to use

any advice appreciated
