Hi all, just found this site and its awesome. Wondered if anyone could help.

Having just found out that ive been ripped off with the gravel i have bought (it raises my tanks pH and harness), im on the lookout for something new.

Eco complete - could anyone who has, or is using this tell me if it affects water chemistry in any way at all? nitrates/ GH/ KH/ pH/ etc are any of these influenced? I know it states that it doesnt but so did my last gravel
In particular nitrates as I have done a search and a few people who use this seem to mention bad algae outbreaks.

Also I would really appreciate anyone who could post a photo of their tank with only eco complete in as the substrate.

Thanks in advance.

I haven't used it but seeing as it's "eco complete" it will definitely cause algae to break out if you don't have enough plants to out compete the algae. The whole point of an eco-complete substrate is to give everything, plants included, the minerals and nutrients needed to grow, some of which algae also thrive on.

The rest of it is just a guess but it will probably buffer your water to a certain level, probably not above 7.5 or give you too hard of water.

of course im adding plants, thats why I asked the question.
