I have aquired a 5.3 USg tank from my school but and im going to heavily plant it and put in driftwood ext. and just have it as a shrimp tank. But as the name suggests, what is YOUR all time favorite substrate out of them all and why? i want to start this tank off the right way and not have to go back and redo all of that... its not exactly what i call a perk of the hobby...

Eco-complete because it looks great, brings out the colours of fish and plants, you dont have to wash it, the bits arent too large.

I only have experience of Tatra Aqua Compost and then a layer of play sand, but it worked great!

I am going for the ADA substrate in the tank i am designing at present.
