Hi all,
would love some advice on choosing substrate for a new tank i will be setting up soon, i have a 200l tank with external filtration and would like to start a South American/amazonian community set up with plenty of planting of course, i intend to have bottom feeders like Cory's and a bristlenose in there and am struggling over a suitable choice of substrate to keep everything happy, i am open to all suggestions at the moment,
many thanks!

Sand with cat litter underneath it. That way your plants have a nice clay base which can absorb and release nutrients and your bottom dwelers have a nice substrate.

I would use sand. It would make the tank "flow". Also corry catfish prefer sand. :)
