i kno this is probably a stupid question but when i went to get my 2 fantail goldfish earlier on today my 9 year old sister asked me if fish pee  lol

but it is quite a question isnt it well i dont know if they do.

do any of you guys :dunno:

They definitely do and poop too. That is why you have to cycle your tank so that you have good bacteria to process the ammonia in their waste.

I've never studied fish waste systems...

But I think it's pretty safe to say that any animal releases liquid waste (pee) in one way or another. They may not sneak off behind a rock and wizz a yellow stream out from under their fin, but I'm sure they let it out somehow.

I can attest (as most of us can) that ammonia is a large part of urine and we find ammonia in our aquariums. So I would venture to guess that fish pee is the source of the ammonia.

I always thought that they are like birds, and their fecal and urine matter kind of come out at the same time through the same opeing as kind of a paste.

ok lol u guys seem to know what you are talking about thanx anyway :D
