I went to one of the local pet shops yesterday in order to pick up some more pimafix, as i was looking i was asked by a girl if i needed any help. I replied that i needed some pimafix where she stood there looking at me blankly. She asked what i needed it for and she pointed out some other medications that were for fungus and the like (as soon as she had read the box) and i said that i didn't wish to use those as i was using this so then she got a bit of an attitude and said well she had never heard of it so i'd have to go to Lincoln. I was biting my lip not to say anything. For God sake, if she knew anything about fish she would know pimafix. Talking to me like i didn't know anything and i was just being fussy. This pet shop i have commented on before, i don't know why i went back. Pulling at straws i guess. Whilst i was there i said a little prayer for the fish and other animals they have there. I'm never going there again. xxx

I go through the same thing in some shops around where I live. I actually work in a pet store and try to educate my fellow employees but most pet shops simply don't care. Its a business and many are very lazy. I end up buying a lot of supplies online unless I really need them immediately just to avoid situations with uninformed employees. Its not the ignorance that really annoys me its more of the attitude that they know everything because they work in a pet store.

i know what u mean about bad shops like thta...

but the petshop i use is brilliant if they dont know anythink they will look it up for you right away and will admit they still dont know everythink (but they cant be far off never gave me bad advice yet)

Im lucky i know of 2 places that are very good with information. Have never given me anything wrong information or said that they didnt know something.

Wow! all you people with good pet shops! SO lucky! my local one is awful (actually i've just posted about them) and tried to sell me a 2 litre tank for my common goldfish. another slightly less local one (i return for accessories because they're good value) consistantly tries to tell me what to put in my tank and how i should be doing things, when they're clearly clueless! last time i went, the ignoramuses actually drove me to tears!!!
how do they get away with it?!!!

evry one in my city is awful!!!!!

and i mean real bad

i probably would have to travel over an hour at least to get to a good one.
