ok, i need help....my fish are getting cloudy eye..went to the store, bought prima fix...

directions say to use it after you take your carbon out, after a week, things should improve.....so i gotta leave my tank without carbon for a week?! and i've been usiong the medication regularly and i'm not seeing any real improvement, i keep the tank well heated and salted ....

Is there a reason you always run carbon in your filter anyway ?
How much salt do you have in the tank and what kind of fish ?

Yeah you really don't need to have carbon in your tank regularly so taking it out to medicate is no biggy. It's just to make sure that the meds stay in the water long enough to do what they need to do instead of getting absorbed by the carbon.

One of my bettas got cloudy eye a while back. It was really bad, she got it on both of her eyes and I just don't know how the poor girl saw anything.
I tryed most of my meds that I had that said it would treat it, but none of them ever worked.
So I kept her tank clean and made sure it was cycled, and it's gone down quite a bit.
I'd like to say that it's completely gone, but she does have a slight clowdiness on her eyes that never went away.
*shrugs*
She's totally fine though...

Maybe you could try a different med. After you finish medicating with prima fix. Do a large water change, put carbon back in, let it run for a few days (maybe longer.. not sure) to make sure all of the prima fix is out of the water.
Do another water change and take the carbon out, and then you could try medicating with something different?
