ok its twice we have had a spawn and the female(2 completely different females)
have jammed themselve ontop of the polystyrene or indian almond leaf!
are we the only ones how do you prevent it?

male fighters will often chase the females out of their territory after breeding. If the female has nowhere to go they jump out.

Well I dunno about breeding since I've never done it...
but I will say that my females will get themselves into situations similar to that (except not that extreme).
Like the other day.. .my runt girl Squeegee got on top of the heater and was partially out of the water. But she wiggled herself back in. I think she was just looking around and thought it would be a good idea to do it? *shrugs*
Also there is a plant in their tank w/ alot of long leaves that float on the top. They're always shimmying themselves on top of the leaves getting out of the water. The leaves aren't large though so they're back in the water quickly. I dunno why they do it, maybe to see if they can? Or they think it's a quicker way to go *shrugs*

i thought she was trying to escape, but its even when he doesnt chase her... the polystyrene is about 1.5cm high and the bugger jumped on it!
thankfully my partner found her before anything bad happned

This happens with a few females I have heard. My female just jumps on top of my plants so half of her is out of the water. Few take it to that extreme, but a lot do it partially ;)
You aren't the only one. I have read it on websites before :D
