Hi,

I'm going to be starting a planted tank in the near future and i wondered if the plants will do ok in one of these:

The lighting system with that tank is 1 x 15 W T8 tube, if that helps you work things out. I have a Juwel Rekord tank but no live plants in there as I have a couple of small cichlids in there that shred live plants to bits.

I had one of these, and to be honest plants I tried struggled with this lighting, i'm not an expert but at a guess a lot of plants would need help of C02 in that tank.

There would be no need for CO2 in a tank that size with the light that low. You could grow most plants with that light, although growth would be slow.

Maybe mine were a bad batch, I started to get very bad quality plants after a while, and was actually told i'd need c02 by my lfs :( (thankfully didn't buy any) :p

ian - can you take a look at my other thread? Obviously know what you're talking about :good:

thanks Ian, make me more confidant about purchasing the tank.
