Hi.

I haven't cleaned my tank out for about two weeks because I've been so busy with my GCSE's. I looked in when I fed tem this morning I saw this long stringy slightly greenish white stuff clinging on the plants and spreading across the tank. Any ideas what it might be?

You can use an old toothbrush to twirl and pull it out. Has the nasty habit of growing back quite fast so you need to find the root cause. Let us know about the lighting, water parameters etc. Do you have any algae eaters?

Common causes are excess light, nutrients.

Certianly not excess lighting - I am guessing at excess nitrates because all the other plants are thriving. I wil get it out tomorow after my chemistry exam. It doesn't seem anything to worry about. My bristlenose plec isn't eating it as far as I can see.

Thanks for the help!

Sam.
