I just moved back home from college for the winter break. I put my two bettas back into their own 2.5 gallon tanks. First I noticed there were alot of bubbles everywhere, it looked almst like carbonoation from soda. Is this ok?

Next, I notcied my female betta has "string" developing on her body. On her fins, and tail. I was able to get get it off of her last night, but I woke up this morning to find that she had more! She's acting totally normal, though, being her aggressive self :) Any ideas?

Sorry, one more thing...Black Beard the Betta's fin rot is getting worse. Now he just sits at the top of his tank doing nothing. I was thinking a salt bath because he is not responding to anything else. Could anybody help me with the steps t giving him this bath?

How much salt should I use? I have a 2.5 gallon tank.

And guess what?! I just got a baby corn snake today!!! A beautiful Anerythristic Cornsnake!

The stringy stuff sounds like fungas to me. There are medicines by maracyn for this, or you could get Jungle Fungas Clear or Jungle Fungas Eliminator. The only difference is that JFC is a fizzing tab and JFE is a powder.

As far as the salt, I put in 1/8 of a tsp in my 2.5 gallons.

Hope this helps!

What ever the string things were, its gone now. And she seems perfectly fine.

Could have been from stress?
