I recently moved my group of 4 leopard danios to a new 180 litre tank and they seemed to settle in ok, if a little skittish (they are the only fish in there other than a lurking CAE). They have a fair amount of plant cover though so places to hide, and the CAE hasn't bothered them (after the initial shock of them all meeting!)
They started spawning like mad within 4 hours of being put in the tank so I thought things were positive. Anyway, the following day one of the females was having troubles. She seemed light in the tale and was trying to float up to the surface, so she was wedging herself into the plants, making me think swim bladder.
I noticed that the males were really chasing the other female and she wasn't looking to happy, but they seemed to have calmed down now. I suspect the males chased the ill female and stressed her out.
This was Sunday, and I couldn't do much untill yesterday (LFS's closed on Sunday eve). I bought a breeding trap yesterday and managed to catch her with as little chasing about as possible and put her in. Also put in a small clump of java moss so she has something to hide in. I've tried to feed her some cooked pea bits, but she's not eating
She was still alive this morning, though looking weaker still. Can anyone suggest a course of action? Is there any medication I can use? I can isolate her in a smaller tank if needs be.
I will post water stats tonight if needs be, but fairly sure they're ok.
Thanks in advance!
