Hi,

I'm getting back into fish keeping after a couple of years gap and have a (hopefully) quick question.

I added a piece of bogwood to my tank a couple of weeks ago and in the last week or so I've noticed a kind of white fluff attached to it. The 'fluff' doesn't appear to be on anything else on the tank so just wondered if anyone had any ideas as to what it is. It kind of looks like old cobwebs mixed with cotton wool! I'd like to get rid of it as it doesn't look particularly nice.

Thanks for any pointers,

Dan

I often get this on newly introduced wood. It looks like some kind of mould or fungus. It will disappear of its own accord, but I have also noticed shrimps picking at it.

Dave.
