Had my BNs about a week now, I bought them with fry and the fry are getting on brilliantly!

The male is a monster, and he's not had any problems,

However the female isn't doing so well, she wasn't eating initially, then for about 24 hours one of her side spikey things looked to be stuck out, but this has gone back in again now.

Today, I notice a very strange rectangular pink area on her head....

I feed them algae sticks (as can be seen in the picture) algae wafers, Tetra Prima and finally cucumber.

Thankyou for your help.

Looks like something had a go at her.. can you move her into a hospital tank on her own (with caves and other decor, of course)?

I just have the one tank,

The stocking in this tank is;

- 3 Flame Dwarf Gouramis
- 5 Golden Barbs
- M&F BN Plec

So isn't even close to semi-agressive :crazy:

Could she have got stuck somewhere? I have 3 caves, one in each corner and one in the middle.

I'll take a picture of my set-up.

Thanks.

Do you have an uncovered heater? Could be a burn from that. My BN has done the same thing before as he likes to wedge himself behind the heater and filter.

Yes my heater is uncovered, and that would be quite logical as my BN's usually place themselves parallel with the filter (and in this case heater), what action would you reccomend?

Pictures of my set-up.

Buy a heater guard or a new heater which comes with a heater guard (for example Visi-therm heaters do).
