why are my plants at one side of the tank growing much better than the other?
lighting is perfectly even, but i now have a nutrafin co2 which happens to be at the good side - could that really make such a difference??

i suppose it could do. also depends on what species you have has obviously some species grow faster than others....

whats the water movement like in the tank

well... lets see if i can dw you a picture...
its a trigon 190 with a fluval 305 external filter with water flow at maximum
the water return is about 2" below the surface inting direct to left front corner
the co2 is at right front corner, and i have green cabomba at both sides.
at the right it has already grown to surface but at left it s about half height with very few leaves.
both planted in sand
and add nutrafin plant gro weekly

try moving the co2 output to underneath the filter outlet, if you look at my tank you`l see that i have this in my tank, this will circulate the co2 better throughout the tank.

It could also be another factor such as slightly deeper substrate or substrate you havent stired up in a while so it contains more neutrients, one side gets mnore natural light than the other.....

I had the same problem a long time ago.Moved it to filter outlet and problem was solved. If you wanto go really exstreme you can get anotehr C02 kit for other side of teh tank.THEN YOU WILL SEE PLANT GROWTH.If you have strong lights.HEHEHE
