OK so i counted my tetras last night and was missing 1 glowlight tetra, searched high an low, its gone . . . So im presuming he has been consumed by another fish. Everyone looks healthy; but i decided to check on the fish throughout the night and the was a neon tetra in the middle of the tank, facing down in a kind of pike just spinning round and around. Yet swimming around fine today . . .

It may have just damaged itself - any kind of neurological damage caused by whatever can put a fish into a spin...including hitting their heads hard enough.Or it may have had a temporary swim bladder problem .Neons can gulp in air when feeding from flakes at the top of the tank which gives them all sorts of bouyancy problems until they fart the gas out! 
One way to avoid this is to put a little of the tank water into an egg cup - add the flake swish it round then add to the tank. It will sinnk immediately thereby not only avoiding this problem but it also gives bottom feeders a chance to get some food before its all snatched from the top while floating.
If not you could be unlucky and it could be Whirling disease is caused by a virus called Myxobolus Cerebralis which initially affects the head of the fish. There is no cure for this disease.

What the hell is going on ??? I have 6 glowlight tetras yesterday morning, yesterday night i was down to 5. I have 6 zebra danios this morning, tonight down to 5 . . . .
There are no remains what so ever in the tank.
The other fish are 2 blackwidow tetras, 5 glowlights, 6 neons, 1 silver shark, 4 gouramis . . .
Non of them hostile and all get along just fine ....
Where have the 2 fish gone .... ?

Neons go into a sleep like state at night (they lose their glow and sink to the bottom),I have witnessed mine on umerous occassions completely wigging out when I put the light on unexpectantly.
