i've noticed some microscopic shrip/insect type things in my tank.
they are really tiny, about the size of a full stop.
they are pure white in colour.

they mostly hang about on the glass down near the substrate. sometimes they jump off and skit about franticaly in mid water.

anybody know what they could be? and are they harmful?

the tank is planted and been cycling for over 2 weeks now.

i've tried to draw one: go to http:// ricey.50megs.com/critter.gif (take out the first space to see the pic.

are they similar to what i have? hang on glass by a tail like thing with round bodies?

yeah tiny round body, pure white with what looks like a tail... soo small its hard to see.

I got a magnifying glass to see them. I've never noticed them swim. They just seem stuck there. I've been told its normal and you can just scrape them off. I'm gonna wait and see.................

nah not eggs. these things can move around! either scurrying around on the glass or whizzing around in mid water. :dunno:

Brine shrimp?

or... maybe.... a bug laid its eggs in the tank, and thats larva?

or.... thats all i got..

could be dragonfly or damselfly nymphs.
i had some in my tank last summer. they will eat small fry and anything else big enough.

i would remove them asap if that is in fact what they are.
