Hi, can anyone identify these marks that have appeared over this weekend to 2 of my 12 month old Red Bellied Piranha?

One did appear to have a smallish blister on Friday that I thought may be the heater but came in today and another now has the same.

I would buy a heater guard.

Any redness to the blister, or pink areas,.
Any signs of flicking and rubbing.
Any visable parasites.
Have your fish been fighting.
Any pus coming form the blisters.

Tank size in gallons, or litres.
Full stocking list.
Water stats.
Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

Hi wilder thanks for that. Id like to apologise for not posting all the required stats...I was too eager and never read the guidelines sorry.
This is a new set up...the fish have been in it around 8 weeks.

Tank size is 6th x 2ft x 18inches.
External filter is 3/4 of Theodore required for the tank ...we are due to add another out of this months wages.

Stock is 6 redbellies . 12 months old. 5inch or so long.

Ph 6
Amonia showed very low on the test kit.
Not got nitrite or nitrate . Can do them in the morning.

The marks look very much like human blisters in shape and colour. One appears to have burst but I can't tell if it us a little fluffy of it that was just the burst skin.

The fish are showing no unusual behaviour at all.

The blister I noticed on the first fish on Friday looks just the same. No bigger. No smaller and no fresh blisters on that fish.

Thanks again for tour help.

Another water change if the blisters have burst.

If your fish are showing no signs of parasites.
I would add a bacterial med.
I would recommend investing in a heater guard.

Keep preforming water changes.
Just add the correct amount of med back to water removed.

Make sure your fish don't have any bubbles on them. As there also an ailment called gas bubble disease.

Just to conclude a week on.

Heater guard is fitted.

Aquarium salt added and a dose of melafix.

1st fish just has small grey discolouring where the blister was and the one in the picture is healing very nicely indeed.

Thanks for the replies. Really helped me to diagnose and treat correctly.
