My speckled platy has been acting kinda strangely lately. In the past few days she's been loitering under rocks and in more sheltered places. Could she be about to drop fry and just looking for a place to do it? Apart from this hiding, she's fine. Eating well, swimming about when not hiding, and doing everything as she would be. Water paras are fine, too.
Thank you for any advice!

Sounds to me like she is getting ready to drop. If you want to keep as many babies as possible, then I would recommend putting her in a separate tank that is heavily planted. Best of luck to you!!

Oooh lord, no more babies for me!
Already have around 10 fry in the tank. Stupidly, I asked for females instead of males. Clever of me, eh?
I'll leave her where she is and sell the fry on when they're big enough.
Thank you!

E- she's already dropped! Just seen at least 3 new fry, but they've all been resting on slate. Is this normal for newly dropped fry?

its normal, some more than others, i found some still 'belly sliding' upto a week old before they finally left the floor
