even if you stop him visibly breeding, the females can and will still produce fry, they can store sperm for several months

There is no way to stop livebearers from breeding except by separating the males from the females over a six month period of time as new batches of fry arrive.

OK. Thanks you guys, I think I will just let them breed. Also, I know it sounds cruel, but, could i feed the excess babies to my bettas? I think thta they would enjoy the chase, and the snack.

Some people will say that's cruel, but it's a common practice to use fry as feeders.
