Stone Stuck In Gill!

ok my roommate has 2 small striata botia and one of them somehow managed to get a small blue rock stuck in his gill. what should we do? should we try to catch him in a net and get it out? or do you think he'll get it out himself? please help we don't wanna lose him!!!

I dont know what to do, but it sounds painful. It will probably stress him out like we get stressed out if we have a peice of something stuck in us.

Hope you can remove it.

Sterlise some tweezers in boiling water, wet cloth in tank water, wrap the fish in the cloth and remove the stone.

As wilder said, you need to get it out.

First thing tomorrow go to your LFS and get something to help with the repairs if any sections of his gills have been damaged, if it was smooth gravel it would only be sore. Dont worry in this case but if it was sharp and cut him then a bit of meds will help
