I was just wondering some good fish I could use to replenish my tank, since you said you would all help me :D

I have a lightly planted tank at the moment with:

1 Bacopa monnieri
1 Crinum calamistratum
2 Echinodorus x barthii
2 Microsorum pteropus 'Windelov'

My fish are:

2 Giant danios
1 Betta splendid
1 Japanese trapdoor snail
1 'Not so painted' Glassfish
1 African dwarf frog
1 Yellow pleco
1 Golden dojo loach

I know i'm going to get German blue rams, and I might see if I can get some unpainted glassfish anywhere. I'm also planning on getting a second dojo loach and I'm plannig on getting rid of the 2 danios or relocating thme somewhere else.

Is there anything I could do to improve this list, am I over stalking and what will go well with these/ are they all compatible?

I'm also wondering if there are any good plants that gros really fast.

Thank you

I didn't see your other post .

How big is the tank ?

Water wisteria [ hygrophila difformis] grows at a good rate and horn wart grows fast as well .

Maybe you could add some dwarf sized gouramis , I don't necessarily mean Dwarf gouramis , maybe croackers , sparklers or honey gouramis .

No I don't think the gouramis would be attacked by the betta. Well not dwarf blues anyway. :dunno: I am going to keep three gouramis with my female betta! I will buy 1 dwarf blue, 1 honey, and 1 pearl. (I think  )

But there both from the labarynth fish species, and they will kill each other by thinking there compition with mates..

Well thats what all the experienced people I have ever talk to have said...

Oh sorry my tank is a 55 gallon long, and wouldn't the gouramis be attacked by my Betta?

And sadly I don't have a pets mart in my city :(
That's a good size .

Danios should be kept in groups of 5 minimum.

Your betta would most likely go after croackers and sparklers [ sorry , I didn't notice him the first time ] , however he might be more at home in a smaller tank , esp if you have fairly strong water flow .

Having no petsmart could be a good thing ;) .

Yeah we only have a Wal-mart and an LPS.. I ahve to drive all the way to Edmonton for some pets stores.. Ehh 6 hour drive with fish = no fun and tired arms. ;)

Anyways about the danios my 2 are beasts they are like 4" long (sorry that might not be a correct answer because I still suck at inches and such..) Yeha I don't really like Giant danios either they seem to be aggresive fish in my tank and they need lots of open room for swimming and I want a heavly planted plant.

Could anyone suggest a plant that grows on rocks and driftwood, other than Java Moss?

I don't care much for giant danios either , but in all fairness to them , they may behave differently if kept in a group of five , at least .

I was going to suggest that you trade them off somehow [ to put it nicely ]and get something smaller . Wasn't sure you'ld like that idea at first .

Anubias , java fern , and bolbitis huedelotii [ African water fern ]will all grow by attaching themselves to rocks , wood almost anything really , anubias and java fern being more common and in my experience easier to care for .

I don't think i'd be able to, I treid to trade them off at the Walmart I got them from and they gave me the responce:

"Sorry sir, your water has a yellow tint to it, so we can't take them back because of disease, its comapny policy."

:/ Even though my water has a yellowish tint because of the tanin leaching out of the driftwood in there. I was getting all mad because they have taken fish back from me, and I tried explaining it to her, but she just walked behing the customer service esk and just like left me there :X
