Just been given a 6 gallon tank of a friend

What fish is ok for a 6 gallon tank?

Will more than likely just use it for my betta but would like another option just incase

shrimp would be nice
I would think you could keep a trio of smaller livebearers or some cardinals or white cloud minnows

Most tetras will need a larger tank, as will WCMMs and livebearers. Some Microrasboras would be a good choice as would Ember tetras (Hyphessobrycon amandae). Be careful though as you can only have a few fish.

I'd put your betta in there and stock your 60L a bit more.
