Hi,

I need a reply ASAP. I bought a pair (a male and female) dwarf gouramis and I just need re verification, are these 2 fish fine to put with 3 scissortails, an endler and 2 corys. The tank is a 10 gallon. I can move them into a 30 gallon so it would just be the gouramis and 2 corys.

gouramis tend to be aggresive in pairs. it's best to keep them in trios 1male 2females. as for the rest of the fish they should be fine just keep an eye out for bullying between the male and female.

I believe you have a fine group of fish. Heres a question i have though: Are gouramis part cichlid?

I'm not quite sure what you mean here, as Cichlids aren't a "fish breed" but an order of fish which has existed since the age of the dinosaurs.

However, Gouramis are probably closer related to Cichlids than, say, Tetras.

According to the latest understanding of marine biologists, most freshwater fish (Including Tetras, Barbs, Danios, Loaches, Knifefish, and Catfish) are part of the same super-order that appears to have always lived in fresh water.

In contrast, Livebearers/Killifish, Cichlids, and Bettas/Gouramis are all in closely-related "advanced" orders of fish which came back from the ocean into fresh water millions of years ago.

The fish are all doing fine, they are alot more active now. Should I maybe add another female gourami?

All right, this answers my question.
