stocking suggestions

hey, for christmas i thought i'd redecorate and restock my brother's fish tank. His is pretty ugly right now and not very well stocked. he has 2 gourami's in there, 2 platies, 2 guppies, a couple of neon tetras, and some african dwarf frogs and snails in there. plus my gae that i added from my tank.
he also has a lucky bamboo plant that has hair algae all over it and another plant in there thats covered in algae.

i was thinking of redoing the entire tank and adding a lot of plants in there, background, middle, and foreground. and i wanted to add a pair of rams in there but i dont know where i can find a lfs that carries them. anyways, can you guys help me with the restocking of the fish and the plants. if you can, add links to where i can see pictures of the plants (cuz im no good with plant names) and if possible, where i can order them all together online (and hopefully they'll come in time)

liveaquaria.com has a list of common plants. You should be able to find stuff there.

As for the stock, how many of the current fish do you plan on keeping?

I would get some more platies and guppies....perhaps some more tetra.

the fish are open to suggestion too, whether or not i should keep them or return them. i'm kind of attached to the neons though, so theyll probably stay. i checked aquariumplants.com and they had nice plants, i was thinking about buying one of the packages, has anyone ever tried them?

Nope never had tried them....
I personally don't like snails or aquatic frogs, but if you keep them here are the fish that might be good in there:

2 gouramis(what kind are they)
4 platies(1 male 3 females
4 Guppies(1 male 3 females)
4 X Neon Tetra
4 X Glowlight Tetra

~African Frogs
~Snails

You could also get rid of the frogs and snails and get maybe 4 ottos or a pair of bristlenose.

i kinda like the frogs, theyre fun to watch swim up and grab a gulp of air.. as for the snails, they dont really do anything.. but i'll look into the glowlight tetras. Do you know if a pair of rams would be compatible with them if i could find them?

I just got a pair of rams and they show little to no aggresion to my danios...i will be most certain that they will get along with neons and glowlights
