Hi, Thinking about purchasing a AquaVital AVA40 Black Tropical 9 Gal (40L) Round Edge Aquarium
and to maybe place in my kitchen, obviously well away from the cooker !!, and it's a large kitchen. Just wondering what to stock it with once cycled of course ! I just love Angel fish, so maybe a couple of them and if poss something else that would get on with the angel's plus not sure if the angels would get to big for that tank ??

sorry did not mean to post this in Bettas

Well, if you do get angelfish, you don't want to get many and they need to be really small. Also, make sure you have a bigger container for when they get older or someone who will take them from you. About 10-15 gallons is needed for each adult. I personally don't suggest it.

I would suggest something like Danios. They can be cept in large numbers and they are schooling fish. It's always fun to watch them all swim around together like a flock of birds!

Another option is guppies. They are bright and colorful, and they all get along! I head guppies for quite a while and really enjoyed them!

I really hope this helps! If you need any more help, feel free to message me!

Platy's are nice fish, they tend to use all the tank too.. (Guppies seem to like it nearer the surface)

Yep too small for angels, go for something else, not a good idea for danios either as even though they are small fish (some larger) they still need extra space due to their general speed of swimming, a nice placid fish selection is better, male guppies if kept on their own will use all of the tank space and add a good touch of colour. i always say that a species tank of something usual works well combined with a well planted background with a natural look to it (personal choice ofcourse  ) BUT since youve posted in the betta section, dont you think its an omen, a nice betta with a few pygmy cories would go dwne a treat and would look beautiful in your kitchen. :good:

Thank you all for your great posts, very helpful, ummmm i do quite like the idea of a betta tank is thereanything other than pygmy cories you would suggest, nothing against them just wondering ?

Thanks again.
