Stocking Options For A 100L Community Tank

Hi there!

I'm new to this forum but I've been reading around and thought that you guys could possibly give me some suggestions on some good fish to stock in my new 100L (36x15x12) tank.

I currently have a 70L bow-fronted community tank running and would probably be transferring all/most of its current residents.

They are:

1x male blue dwarf gourami
1x female bristlenose (currently about 4in)
4x red & white platies
3x zebra danios
6x silver tip tetras
2x cories (bicolor, I think!)
About 5 amano and cherry shrimp

I have a few fish in mind but am unsure about whether they're advisable, either due to their fully-grown size or whether they'd get on with the existing little chaps. My other possible options are just getting more/bigger shoals of things like tetras/platies etc, and I'd definitely like to get more cories to keep the pair I have happier.

Ideas I've had so far include:

Dwarf rainbow fish
Kuhli loaches
Neon rosy barbs
Torpedo barbs
Swordtails

Opinions on the suitability of these? Or if any of you have any other good ideas that I've not thought of that would be fantastic!

I would definitely up your number of cories to at least 6, maybe even take it up to 8. Cories do much better in groups.

I would also up the number of danios to at least 6.

Personally, I'd just up your numbers of schooling fish (so the tetras, cories, danios), rather than add new types of fish.

I'm definitely planning on upping the number of cories, I've gone with sand substrate in the new tank specifically for them.

I'll definitely pass on your opinion to the other half who is pushing for some sort of bigger 'feature fish' despite me being keen on the cute active littler guys!

personally, I've fallen in love with Bolivian Rams as centerpiece fish. If the tank is tall enough, a solitary angel fish may make a nice centerpiece also, the only concern would be the possible incompatibility with the Gourami (which is why I didn't suggest them). My mom absolutely adores the angelfish in my community tank right now, but I'm planning on swapping her out for a pair of bolivian rams, to put the angel in another tank I've got where there will be nothing to draw away from her.

Hmm, I'd sort of ruled out blue/bolivian rams due to things I've read about them needing really specific water parameters, but if you think they're not going to clash too badly (both in terms of living requirements and personality!) with the I'll definitely put themback on the 'possible' list, they're really gorgeous fish.

I'd crossed angels off the list due to the tank being quite narrow/shallow, plus the possibility of them seeing the smaller ones as a tasty snack! The reason I was thinking rainbow fish was due to their non-aggressiveness but I was worried about them being a really similar colour to the gourami and ending up with an army of blue fish taking over the tank.

Rams though, hmmm, research time!

Bolivian rams are apparently a lot hardier than blue rams. They're also larger. But I don't know about their compatibility with the Gourami.

As for Rainbows, from what I understand, due to their activity levels, they need a long tank., I wanted to put some in my 46 gallon, but apparently my tank is unsuitable (measurements are: 16.5 wide, 20" tall, 36" long)
