Stocking My Tank

OK so angel fish are out. If I was to follow your earlier suggestion would the gouramis become the main fish in the tank?

Yup

What's the likelihood of them mating? What would I need to do if they did?

Sorry, I can't help you there, I don't have much experience with gourmis.

If you ask that question in the relevant section I'm sure you'll get plenty of informed answes.

Cheers for all your help Zante, I'll move over to right section to ask more about them :)

So I have a rough idea now of what I want to stock, thanks to all your help but I am still in a toss up between Synodontis and a Bristlenose Plec. What would be best?

I have definitely decided on Pearl Gourami's after seeing Ruskull's picture of one, it was beautiful!

I am still undecided on the rasboras though, are there any other fish I can choose from? I obviously have 4 Zebra Danios already, will it still be ok to keep these?

I also did a water change last night and did some more tests today. I have taken pictures of the results and just want a second opinion, I believe nitrites is 0 and have a feeling the ammonia is 0 but think it might also be 0.25ppm. My nitrates are high but nothing I can do about that, hopefully once I plant it will help

Not sure on the synodontis or bn plec.

Pearls are very pretty, good choice! ^_^

Drawing a blank right now on what kinds of other fish you could get, rather tired today, but do you not like harlequin rasboras?

If you can get rid of the danios, that would probably be best. They are temperate fish rather than tropical.
Also while they are quite small, they're very active, so most people would like to see them in a 4ft tank.

The pics are really hard to tell. It's best, if you can, to look at them in natural lighting. I can barely make heads or tails of my own tests, let alone others pics :p Hopefully someone else with better eyes can help you with that.

Sorry I really can't be of much help, but I look forward to seeing everything when it's all set up. :)
