I just got a 29 gallon tank and will be doing a fishless cycle shortly.
Here are my stocking ideas:
6 cory cats
8 pearl danios
8 white clouds

Can I fit this? Should I just pick the clouds or the danios?

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

that sounds good......

so, here's a few questions.

A: How long has this tank been set up?
B: what filtration/lighting/heating have you got
C: are these the only fish you're interested in? I'm sure there are others you might want to look at.

I set up the tank 3 days ago and am going to begin my fishless cycle soon. I have a Whisper 30 filter, a 20 watt flourescent bulb, and a 100 watt heater, although I'm not sure if the thermostat is working, and I may upgrade to a 150 watt, as the temperature dropped a few degrees overnight. I can't really think of any other fish, especially since I'm very worried that I'd be grossly overstocked with just the white clouds, danios, and cories.

oh ho ho ho/ Quite contraire, you'd still be slightly understocked!

but if you haven;t bought these fish, I'd urge you to explore other options on fish.

What do you suggest? Also, will the white clouds be happy with 76 degree water; I know that they like cooler water. Lastly, how strictly do I need to follow the 1 in. of fish per 12 in. sq. of surface area rule?

How about 8 pearls, 6 corys, and 6 Dwarf/Neon Rainbowfish?

The Minnows will do fine in either coldwater or tropical tanks. Beautiful fish and they colour up more as they get bigger.

What do you think of the rainbowfish instead?

I think you need a centerpiece fish, maybe a pearl gourami, it will do fine singly or in a trio (1 male, 2 females) and will add a sot of focus point to the tank. They get to be about 4 inches long, and it won't bother your other fish. Here is a picture:

Good luck,

Thank you. my concern with a gourami is that I've heard that they're peaceful, and I have very active fish on my list.
