Hey,I have a pair of fm's which im getting rid of and that means i will have a empty 4ft!I want little fish in it but have no idea what.NANny ideas welcome!

Wow, a blank canvas!. It all depends what size fish you want. In my own 4ft, the largest fish I have are female Pentazona Barbs and Dwarf Neon Rainbows. That way I can have a good sized shoal of each fish. Try a dozen Cardinals, same with Pencilfish (my faves - endlessly entertaining), the possibilities are just about endless. But, as I say, choose something you can have a good sized shoal of.

Personally, I would plant it ( it would be one expensive tank, I know ) and then buy a shoal of Pencilfish!

4ft is a 55 right? If so I would put the following.

8-12 black neons
6 cories
6-8 rummy nose tetras

And that's where I'm stuck :/ .

What about:

5 cherry barbs
5 golden barbs
7 harlequin rasboras
5 cories

i have pencil fish in my 3ft but only 3 of them.Does that sound good?

That's a good start; 10 Pencilfish and 10 Cardinals will look extra fab. Go on, you know you want to. But don't be tempted to stock right up to it's limit, your fish will behave much more naturally. Lots of plants, too, I hope.

Use mostly deep rooted plants in pots of gravel, with driftwood and mossy rockpiles around them, then floor the rest of the tank in Sand and get 8 or 12 Skunk Loaches. Hours of entertainment.

* 7 striped Loaches, and two Schools of Danios, Tetras, Rasboras, or Minnows of your choice..

* 4 Moonlight Gouramis, an SAE, 7 Black Ruby Barbs, 7 Kuhli Loaches, 5 Bamboo Shrimp.

* 5 Yoyo Loaches, 12 Tiger Barbs or Red Eye Tetras.

* All Catfish: Porthole, Upside Down, Glass, Corys, maybe some Hoplos, Banjos, or Raphaels.

* 2 Bristlenosed Plecos, 2 Angelfish, 5 Cories, 3 Dwarf Platies, 6 hatchetfish, 6 Emperor Tetras.

* 2 African Butterfly Fish, 2 Leopard Ctenopomae, 1 Senegal Bichir, 6 to 8 Congo Tetras.

* Breeding pair of Firemouth Cichlids and 3 Swordtails as Dithers/Food Factories

* Three Spiny Eels - If the tank is well planted and they feel secure, they'll spend more time hanging out in the plants than the sand.

* Set up a river tank with White Clouds, Pearl Danios, Hillstream Loaches and/or bulldog plecos. There may be some Cories or other loaches that would fit in this nicely.
