Hey,
I decided to turn my 75 gallon tank into saltwater finally. I have expericence with a reef tank and this is going to be my first fish only. I want to put fish in that i cant put in with corals. Here's an idea of what i'm hoping to put in: Yellow Tang, Niger Triggerfish, Imperator Angel, Coral Beauty, Clown Triggerfish, Sailfin Tang, Scopas Tang, Butterfly fish- Falcula/Racoon. I know that some of them aren't compatible though. What do you think would be the best combo? Also, i know that the trigger fish will eat hermit crabs and shrimp, but if i keep the triggers well fed would i be able to keep crustaceans? And maybe even a yellow ribbon eel or something like that. What else would look good in the tank?
Thanks!

Hi, how long is your tank? presuming its 120cm imo the yellow tang, coral beauty, facula butterfly, racoon butterfly, would be fine size wise but imo the rerst are too big for a 120cm tank. not so sure about haveing 2 butterflys mind. But remember ribbon eels are very hard to look after, they ned specialist feeding. a small trigger like a blue chin would be cool, how about some sort of non reef safe wrasse?

Hello, as stated Ribbon Eels generally don't do too well in captivity and are a real pain to ween on to frozen foods. The Sailfin Tang can attain a length of 40cm, a very large aquarium with a good amount of open water is preferred. I believe the Triggers will still have a go at crustaceans, even if well fed. The Yellow Tang should be okay in a tank of that size.

I see no Lionfish in your stock list, why is this?

the lion fish! knew i forgot something ha ha thanks! I'll post some pics when its all setup...

I would skip the yellow tang, skip the Clown they grow to a foot and a half (18"+), If the Niger is Odonus niger, they can get to 18"+ also, Imperator gets to big. The triggers will also pick at your lionfish. They can get inbetween the spines and could eventually kill it. I hope your researching everything and not just chucking them in

If you can't find some things on here, Go to wetwedmedia.com click Marine and towards the bottom on the left hand column is search, when searching change the option below the text searching box to search wetwebmedia only and reefkeeping magazine searches for great info :good:
