I've recently inherited a new 62UKg tank with very odd dimensions. 48x12x30''

It currently houses 6 platys (+ a few babies), 8 neons, 2 plecs, 1 cory, 3 Bala's (4 inches) and 3 dwarf gouramis. Everybody getting on well.

Was wondering if I could add any more or is this about right?

Well...

It really depends on whether you can identify the plecs, some stay smallish (5") others get ginormous (20"+) so working out what sort you have is essential.

Also the Bala sharks will need to be in a bigger tank eventually, requiring a 75 USG as an absolute minimum when they are fully grown.

The cory needs a couple of friends as they are much happier in groups of 3+, although with a tank like yours, you have an huge footprint, so I'd go for a bigger group.

Personally I'd add a couple more Corys now, ID the plec, rehome the sharks then think about what else to add.

Thanks - sound advice. The (Common) Plecs are 6'' and 3''. Unfortunately rehousing the Bala's isn't something I can do yet (unless they go back to the store). I'm up for a few cory's though... cheers
