Stocking Issues..

My 75g tank has recently been downsized quite a bit.

I now have 3 parrot cichlids of about 3'', a breeding pair of 3-4'' gold severums, a lone green 5'' severum, and a 2'' red severum..

I've had a few parrot cichlids die over the last week.. when lights went off they were fine, lights came on in the morning and they were dead or maimed, and died later on.

I've never seen the pair of severums attack any other fish. The male will flare the other fish down, or chase them away, but never seen it bite any of the other fish. I plan on giving them their own 55g to spawn in once I find new homes for some convicts and jewels currently inhabiting the 55g.

2 severums and 3 parrot cichlids is probably a little too many for my 75g tank. I'm thinking about getting rid of the 2 severums, and keeping 3 parrots in the 75g with this other weird ctenepoma that is very gentle and cool.

So basically I'm wondering if 3 parrots + 2 severums is too much for my 75g. It's a 4 ft tank and has a fluval4plus internal filter, and the biggest aquaclear HOB filter. Lots of caves + territories for the fish to choose from.

Should I keep the severums? or just go with 3 parrots and the ctenepoma? Any advice/experience/opinions welcome.

Never mind whether they are hybrids or not.... parrots are just plain ugly and severums are absolutely gorgeous.

Ok so nobody has any ideas on the stocking side..

Please try to keep your parrot bashing out of my topic in the future. That is not the point of the thread!!

Excuse me.... at the bottom of your original query you state: "Any Advice/experience/opinions welcome"...

I shared my opinion. In future, don't ask if you don't want to hear!

Next time state: "Please only tell me things I want to hear and that will not hurt my sensitive self"

PS - given the size of the fish, I would only have either a pair of serv's or a pair of parrots (but would go for sevs). But that is my opinion.

I wasn't asking for everyone to give me their opinions on hybrids.. it was a stocking question.

That is why we should read EVERYTHING before we make comments.
